Anna R. McAlister

Dr. Anna R. McAlister serves on the IAE’s board of directors and has held the position of Director of Curriculum & Assessment since 2023. Anna currently works as Professor of Marketing at Endicott College, in Beverly Massachusetts. She also teaches courses in the undergraduate Advertising Management program and the graduate Strategic Communication program at Michigan State University. 


With more than 20 years’ experience in higher education, Anna has established an international reputation for her research that is primarily focused on public policy issues surrounding food and beverage marketing directed to young children. She has published over 40 journal articles and book chapters, and regularly presents research as interdisciplinary conferences in the US and abroad. Anna’s research has earned multiple academic journal and conference awards, and her teaching has been recognized with multiple teaching awards at Michigan State University and Endicott College. 


Anna serves as the Deputy Editor for Journal of Marketing Communications and also serves on the editorial review boards of Journal of Advertising, Journal of Interactive Advertising, and Journal of Advertising Education.
